Who We Are: A Pet Supply Store

Originally from a small town in Nebraska, Owner Jamee Warden grew up loving dogs and cats as they were always around. She always had a strong connection to animals and that has only grown as she has.

In 2018, Jamee’s chocolate Lab,Mr. Brown (originally from New Braunfels, TX) came down with Coonhound Paralysis- “an inflammatory reaction of the peripheral nervous system, causing ascending paralysis beginning at the back legs and progressing forward. This often, but not always occurs in conjunction with a bite or contact from a raccoon.” The only treatment is to provide nursing care and if possible begin swim therapy to keep the muscles strong. With the recommendation from Christina Hardinger, owner of Skillful Paws, and guidance of her vet Dr. Ray Bouloy of Cypress Creek Pet Care, after 8 months Mr. Brown started to walk again. Mr. Brown taught Jamee that with the right guidance, hard work, and dedication that you can accomplish anything. Mr. Brown will always be remembered as the dog who changed so many peoples lives and raised awareness about beating coonhound paralysis. We miss him everyday. His legacy lives on through Mr. Brown’s Pet Stop.

After working in the pet industry for the past 10 years at Healthy Pet in Austin, TX, Jamee got to meet hundreds of dogs that became friends through the store. Her passion for pet nutrition was nurtured during her time at Healthy Pet where she saw most ailments treatable through a diet transition. In 2021, Jamee bought a house in Lockhart, TX after commuting for two years, Jamee decided that she was ready to make a difference in Lockhart, TX.

Mr. Brown’s Pet Stop hopes to raise awareness about the importance of a healthy diet free of wheat, corn, soy and animal by-products. That feeding our pets a healthy diet doesn’t have to break the bank. As well as, working together with Non Profits that support the importance of vaccinating, microchipping and spaying/neutering our beloved pets. By being responsible pet owners we can work together as a community to keep our pets healthy, off the streets, and out of the shelters.
